I've been thinking about updating the blog design here at WhisperWood Cottage for a long time. I wasn't sure exactly what to do, so I kept putting it off. As I thought about it more and more over the last few days, I knew I wanted the design to reflect the current aesthetic of the cottage. I spent time looking around different rooms and noticing the common themes and details that make me smile. I was most inspired by this simple view...a single pillow and linen slipcovered chair with a backdrop of white painted wood.
I thought this snippet captured the essence of WhisperWood Cottage at this point in time. Then the question became, "How do I translate this look into a blog design?"
I used the stripes and the colors as the jumping off point, and I've been working on the new header, button, and other details. If you are visiting here on the blog, you will be able to see what I have done so far. There are still more updates to come, but please check it all out.
